Album Liner Notes:
As a very young child one day, I remember following my mother as she hurried through the house into our backyard. She carried a full laundry basket of dripping wet closes. Asking her in mid stride, ‘Mama, Que Soy Yo?’ (Mama, what am I?) Not quite sure why or what I was asking or wanting to know, she lowered her basket to the ground then, slowly drying her hands on her damp apron, kneeling down, she looked me in the eye and said, ‘Mijo, tu eres puro Mexicano. (Son, you’re all Mexican), with that she got up, picked up the basket, smiled proudly, and then walked away. I didn’t quite understand at the time why, what she had just said made me feel so proud, but it did, and as a 5-year kid I felt at least ten feet tall that day. Well that’s the way Lalo's music makes me feel; proud to be what and whom I am. This album contains music that should make every Latino proud. Lalo has, throughout the decades, written songs about his humble Mexican-American beginning and never forgot his people. Some songs are sprinkled with humor, some are just simply beautiful, but all come with a message. They have the heart and soul of all Latinos. Now it’s time to get to know the man behind all this great music. Enjoy the sprit of the music; dance your cares away, and let your kids know who and what Lalo Guerrero is all about. Remember we all come from different points on earth, in many different shades of colors, in different shapes and sizes, but all Latinos carry the same sabor and spirit in the gut of our souls, so enjoy - Benjamin Esparza - Producer

Lalo Guerrero, the Father of Chicano Music, has been a hero of mine since the early 1950’s. During that time anyone who was anyone went to Lalo’s nightclub locate in East Los Angeles. As a boy, my father took me many times to Lalo’s place when he wanted to give me a special treat. To hear his music today is just as enjoyable. It brings back many boyhood memories within me.

Album Liner Notes:
"Grupo Jalisco" and their new CD called "VIVA" is what best describes this talent of a group, who is full of "VIVA" (Life). Grupo Jalisco is one of those rare talents in show business that once they hit a stage the audience never wants them to let them go. Their energy, and charisma is evident from the moment you hear their first note, through their last encore. Their cover songs from the long lost past come to life again, becoming new to their young fans. The music material on this "VIVA" CD is pure high energy Grupo Jalisco, capturing the soul Mexico with their music, but with the Grupo Jalisco there is a twist, they also capture the present at it's best.
These five (5) talented musicians combine Mexico's rich history of the past, and the power of the present, mixing everything from Rap, Soul, Rancheras, Traditional, Tex-Mex and even touching on Boarder Rock with this break-through CD.
Having shared the stage with some on the biggest contemporary Latin artist today, they having proven themselves to be a powerfull energy, no matter the venue, and as their fan base continues to grow, they can testify as to their unique fun and infectious musical style. This is Grupo Jalisco at it good time best, greater things still await this young talented pool of musicans, know as Grupo Jalisco, Que "VIVA" Jalisco.
As the legendary Lalo Guerrero once said, "These guys are more than just a mariachi, they are some of the best musicians I ever worked with! They are pure power, they are the living spirit of Mexico, and carry the mariachi brand name very well as musicians" . . Damas y Caballeros . . . Ladies and Gentlemen here is pure musical power, let me present "Grupo Jalisco" with their new CD "VIVA"
